Hardship Fund

UPDATE 20/05/2024:  APPLICATIONS CURRENTLY CLOSED

Councillor Paul Davies and Longley Farm set up the Holme Valley South Emergency Hardship Fund to help people who live within the Holme Valley South District Ward and are facing a financial emergency.

The purpose of the Fund is to support those facing a financial emergency i.e. an immediate need which cannot be met through the existing benefits system and means the costs of basic necessities, such as food, heating, housing, or childcare, cannot be covered.

The grant will provide a temporary financial stop-gap whilst the applicant addresses their financial situation. It is not intended to provide a long term solution to financial hardship and is not means-tested.

Depending on need, a grant may be allocated up to the limits given below:

· £200 – 2 adults and 2 children

· £150 – 1 adult and 2 children

· £100 – 1 or 2 adults

The grant can only be awarded to a household once every twelve months .

The Fund is administered by Holmfirth Tech and the decisions about grants are made by an independent panel made up of local people who review applications against the Fund’s criteria. All panel discussions are confidential. Please complete this form if you want to apply for help from the fund.

Please gives as much information as you can. Doing so will help the panel consider your application as quickly as possible. If you do not give enough information your application may be delayed as the panel will have to get in touch with you for more information. Normally your application will be dealt with within two weeks.
