Holmfirth Tech receives Five Star Food Hygiene Rating

Holmfirth Tech is celebrating following its recent inspection by the Food Standard Agency, which has awarded a ‘Five Star Food Hygiene Rating’.

Food hygiene ratings are given to food handling businesses after an inspection has assessed how well they comply with food safety laws. A score of zero to five is given and, as a result of our inspection on 30 November 2023, the Tech has received the highest rating of ‘Five Stars’ rating them overall Very Good.

The Tech’s new commercial kitchen is available for all buildings users, including tenants, room hirers and co-workers, to prepare refreshments for themselves, or their own activity or event. The Tech is working with local chefs to provide workshops, aimed at families and students, to cook healthy food on a tight budget. The kitchen is also available to hire on an exclusive basis for larger catering events, e.g. festivals and celebrations.

Sally Barber, Manager at the Tech said “The Five Star Rating is testament to the hard work put in by all the Tech team, local contractors and volunteers, to ensure that our new kitchen is fit for purpose, fully equipped, and clean and tidy. We now have appropriate facilities in place to deliver good, nutritional and local food to residents and businesses alike, at regular coffee mornings, lunch clubs, afternoon teas, and business networking and training events, all held at the Tech. Well done to everyone involved.”
